Video Messaging Application of the Year

Based on feedback, this category made a return last year after a multi-year hiatus.

Technically, probably, Tox, but nobody uses that...
Still, if I had to choose, I would probably go with Tox.

Skype, the only one I've actually used, seemed to work well for what we needed!

I tried Jitsi through multiple platforms (Linux, Windows, MacOSX) with no results. Skype does the job but the endless and constant updates drives me crazy.

Video Messaging Application of the Year

I'll open things up by nominating Stars in Shadow -- for best 4x game yes, even with Endless Space 2 on the horizon, and surprise/sleeper hit of the year.

Although it wasn't listed, my personal favourite has for a couple of years been WIRE. Totally transparent, and regularly audited & updated. Easiest is to run it from an AppImage.
