Found it: /var/spool/mail/<user> ... at least with openSUSE. Other distros might use /var/mail/<user>. HTH anybody with the same Problem .

I use email rarely during the last two years, and when I do, it's web-interface. But formerly it was mutt. And I still think mutt is the best!

Thunderbird winning it again due to its quality and being heavily promoted. Icedove didn't get any votes probably because Debian dropped the Icedove client. The name is now used only by the Icedove-UXP client of Hyperbola GNU/Linux-libre. Icedove-UXP is based on an earlier version of Thunderbird. N1 is now Nylas. Nylas is now a pay client.
