Virtualization Application of the Year
What is your VM of choice? Note that Containers were broken out into a dedicated category last year.

Virtualbox for a long time now
|
I choose QEMU but would have chose AQEMU if it were there.
|
i vote for virtualbox
|
VMWare is great!!! Used free edition ESXi 5.1 at home and works like a charm.
|
It was Virtualbox last year and it will be again this year...
You know which way I've voted now... |
I swear VMare, while probably of professional grade stability, was slower with my hardware the last time I tried it 5 or so years back. I've done the whole kvm and hypervisor thing, but nothing beats hitting "start" and going.
And @ jeremy - would legacy emulators such as simh go anywhere? |
Voted for KVM but I'dont get why KVM and QEMU were separated. I know the difference but still KVM is based on QEMU
|
Oracle VirtualBox for me, best customizable.
|
I like (A)QEMU but may skip this vote unless figuring out how to install NetBSD, Windows, other GNU/Linux now that I've booted Xen. I've also heard Bochs is good.

It's not the same virtualization in a headless server, than virtualization in a workstation.
For the later, I use Virtualbox. For the former, I go with VMware ESX (and also Hyper-V, but that would be off-topic here). |
I like Xen.
