Slackware won the title this year with a plurality vote. Slackware also rated high in the Distrowatch.com visitor supplied rankings. It is currently third in those rankings among 101 distros that have at least ten votes. IPFire has the top score but it's a firewall, not a desktop distro. Point Linux is in second, but that is based on the oldstable Debian Jessie. I couldn't get GNOME Maps to run on the Debian Jessie base when I tried it. Slackware is great for those who prefer to run a server without systemd.
