Supertuxkart, second would be flightgear.

flightgear.

could you give some tips on how to quickly get into playing (=flying) it?
the one time i tried, it wanted me to go through pre-flight checks...
also, there seems to be a lot of launchers for it. why?

Well instead of going through the checks I always run autostart from the plane's name menu.

The different launchers are just used to get the options (different planes, location, etc) in a command for FG, so people don't have to use Cli to start

I voted Lbreakout2(which is called Lbrickbuster2 on Fedora, but I think Emillia Pinball is a very close second.

I like Emilia Pinball (which didn't make the list). I also prefer games with more logic to them. fltkmm is a nice one and it's light so it works well on low resource systems.

Supertuxkart is so much fun!

I do not see urbanterror
I do not see openastromenace
games-arcade/smc => http://www.secretmaryo.org/

voted nothing

emilia pinball unofficial just got an update:
https://github.com/sergiomb2/pinball
the options menus are buggy as hell, but it's still the only linux native pinball afaics.
and the gnu table is kinda fun.

Yes UT is a fine game and deserves a slot.

Edit: It seems that UT is not fully open-source.

Always a hard choice for me because I enjoy all of:
  • Frets on Fire
  • Minetest
  • OpenTTD
  • SuperTux
  • SuperTuxKart
Voted for Minetest this year because I've been doing a lot of development/modding stuff with it and it's the newest addition to my list of favourite open source games. I voted for some of the others in previous years.
