I'll be honest, HexChat's the only one I seen to be able to work properly.

Can we add Slack? It isn't open-source, but it seems to be the first attempt at upgrading that ancient paradigm in decades.

I'm skipping this one as I'm not a heavy IRC user so use Pidgin when I connect. However, isn't Konversation a general purpose messaging client like, if less powerful than, Pidgin?

Slack is a service (and not even based on IRC anymore, according to Wikipedia article), you can't use it to connect to any IRC network. This poll is for IRC clients.

Hexchat. I hate Konversation for some reason, but only slightly less than using Pidgin as an IRC client (I love it for instant messaging).

Hexchat because nothing changed...and no changes are the best changes. (Except for straight-up security updates that touches 0 gui elements.)
