Vim will always get my vote, although I will say that as far as GUI editors go, Kate in "Vi-Mode" is pretty nice.

Voted leafpad, it takes care of all my modest requirements of editing system files and learning Python/Bash on, makes even Gedit seem cumbersome in comparison. Have Vim too just in case..

VIM will always be my favorite. I use it every day and couldn't be more happy with it.

I voted Vim, due to its flexibility and use of the keyboard. I like to use the GVim version of Vim. Sometimes, I use Kate when I want to do a cut and paste.

I always try to use the tool appropriate to the task and avoid having "favorites" (the leading cause of 'fanboyism').
