X Terminal Emulator of the Year

A newer category that has been very close in each of its first two years.

Urxvt has become my personal favorite!

rokytnji 12-15-2014 09:48 PM

RoxTerm got mine.

I love the ability to split my terminal vertically or horizontally and/or group them and ungroup them to send them common commands.

Terminator http://gnometerminator.blogspot.co.n...roduction.html gives me all this and more.

DaneM 12-16-2014 12:11 AM

MATE Terminal?

I love MATE Terminal, but don't see it listed. Any chance it can be added?

brianL 12-16-2014 02:44 AM

Konsole. Or whatever is the default for the DE/WM I'm using.

anticapitalista 12-16-2014 02:59 AM

urxvt has won me over from roxterm.

I should vote Konsole because it is a great terminal. But I have to admit I use urxvt in real life, so I'm voting for it.

xterm

xterm (built myself) for optimal UTF-8 support

I recently found MobaXterm for use under Windows, and it makes putty looks like a toddler.

dijetlo 12-17-2014 02:12 AM

I have to go with urxvt in Linux
Accessing from a m-soft environment, I tend to agree with Tux. MobaXterm us a better interface than putty.
(just disable x-forwarding for any servers not running X or you'll get written up in /var/log/secure...this I know for true....)

chrisretusn 12-17-2014 02:16 AM

Well with a KDE desktop, it an easy pick for me, Konsole of course.

metalaarif 12-17-2014 04:39 AM

Gnome Terminal however, I love Konsole and Terminator but I am very used to Gnome Terminal and I usually use Gnome.

kooru 12-17-2014 06:24 AM

Also for this year, Terminal xfce.

fatmac 12-17-2014 07:56 AM

Roxterm gets my vote as it is what my distro of choice uses.
