Fluxbox has remained the favorite for my systems, it stands the test of time without surprises.

rokytnji 12-15-2014 09:50 PM

+1 on Fluxbox. It is my comfort food/window manager.

sycamorex 12-15-2014 10:38 PM

i3 is where I feel at home.

brianL 12-16-2014 02:50 AM

Fluxbox, again. i3 is the only tiling WM I've tried - it's OK.

anticapitalista 12-16-2014 02:57 AM

herbstluftwm has won me over from i3. I still also use jwm, icewm and fluxbox.

notKlaatu 12-16-2014 08:33 PM

fluxbox. it's just so easy to configure and customise, and so robust. and yet minimal.

I vote for dwm window manager. I was looking for a bare one. I had installed twm before but it's lot difficult working with multiple apps.
I tried dwm and it makes it lot easy.

Though I have used openbox which is also good.

I am planning of using enlightenment window manager which as the site says works on minimal system.

kooru 12-17-2014 06:29 AM

I've voted openbox

philipgr 12-17-2014 09:34 AM

Muffin

I would have chosen Muffin but sadly it is not in the list so I chose Compiz.

Philip

Mostly I use either XFWM4 or Marco depending on the DE (XFCE or MATE) I use. My vote is XFWM4.

steeladept 12-17-2014 10:56 AM

I will abstain from this category. I am not sure I understand the difference between the desktop environment and a windows manager.

jeremy 12-17-2014 11:31 AM

Muffin has been added.

I just use what ever XFCE jams in there. I really couldn't care less, as long as it works.

No vote, see you in Desktop Environment for KDE... :)
