uBlock, Privacy Badger, and HTTPS Everywhere rock!
Yes, GnuPG and NoScript are also great, but I am surprised the above didn't get more votes. Meh, evidently not many of the hip, cool kids hang out here ;-P

I had a look at uBlock and in my opinion, Adguard AdBlocker is still better. Although uBlock is a little faster, Adguard replaces Privacy Badger or Ghostery and uses less RAM than Adblock Plus! Also, you can block new elements very easily with the mouse!

Proprietary, closed source, commercial software for Winweenies? Thanks, but no thanks.
uBlock is very light footprint w/o noticeable impact on performance. This on a workstation that I built almost a decade ago by now (hmmm.... my how time flies, maybe 9 years? Time for an upgrade? Hell, no, still runs great.)

µBlock - An efficient blocker for Chromium and Firefox. Fast and lean.
Currently using it instead of my usual Adblock Edge, seems pretty good so far.
Yeah, uBlock is an awesome blocker for sure, especially in "advanced user" mode. I switched to it about a month or two back and find it better than the alternatives in pretty much every way. In addition, it's now available directly from the Mozilla Add-ons web-page for those that don't want to fetch it from GitHub:
I've been experimenting with this one on Firefox for a while now and find it to be very powerful, and highly worthy of checking out. Note that it's not simply an install and go extension, but one that requires some time and effort to get it tweaked for proper usage.

This looks pretty promising, albeit a bit of effort up front to configure.
Has anyone looked into uMatrix? I've been happily using uBlock as replacement for AdBlock Edge - much faster - but not yet gotten around to checking out it's big brother, uMatrix.
