This maybe a good info about terminal emulators and an addition to the thread.

LXTerminal does what I need.

urxvt - finally learned how to beat the ugly out of it.

Used xfce4-terminal for years but it started acting weird on some of my Gentoo/Fluxbox machines.

Hi Jermy, I think this can be added as I use it regularly.

X-Win32

Running on Linux is a prerequisite for being included in the MCA's.

Install all the apps!

I voted for XFCE-terminal as it's all things XFCE!

It's tiresome to have so many variations of what is an essentially trivial core function. Additional malus points for those terminals, which break right-click=copy, middle-click=paste. And still no reliable backspace key, anywhere...

9term (which is missing) is awesome. You can edit the text inside the window.

Terminology aims to do the exact opposite (adding all candy you would normally only expect in X11/GUI-Filemanagers and more ...).

mate-terminal?

DaRkBoDoM 01-14-2014 04:21 PM

IMHO GNU screen should be on the list

Screen is a multiplexer, not a terminal.
