finished my XBMC media, internet television,DLNA box with really awesome skin.. :) voted for it.
on bad side XBMC despite very rich functionality and widespread platforms is bugged and hard to setup for some extra functions.

Too bad I can't pick three

Xine, VLC, and mplayer are great apps that (when properly installed) can play just about anything. I like gxine for it's graphical interface, mplayer for it's non-graphical interface, and I voted for VLC because it has everything covered and works consistantly well. Usually one of the first apps I install on a new system.

I use XBMC's dvd-player to watch DVD's, but honestly I think it's a bit clunky for watching videos. I'll use VLC to simply watch simple videos. I do like the options available for XBMC though for actually watching full DVD's.

forgot to mention ShowTime.. it's something like XBMC light, have many decent plugins.. works on PS3 too.

Is there anything better than smplayer? (Can you please add it to the list.)

Knightron 01-12-2014 07:44 PM

Hey Hoholala, can you answer a question for me please.
I use kplayer, when i area where video is played goes blanc until playback is resumed. With Smplayer, is this behaviour the same, or does it show you the frame that the video is paused on.
This is one feature i miss from kaffeine.

Missing Applictions

Whats wrong with smplayer, umplayer ?

jeremy 01-14-2014 08:57 PM

As previously mentioned, GUI frontends for mplayer aren't included in this poll.

In my opinion VLC is the best and the safest choice. You cannot go wrong with it.

savotije 01-15-2014 03:11 AM

mplayer

metalaarif 01-15-2014 03:33 AM

VLC is the best

slappisMekaniker 01-15-2014 10:02 PM

Is Kplayer missing or I am blind??

Knightron 01-15-2014 10:44 PM

It seems you're blind.
Read four post above your own.

slappisMekaniker 01-15-2014 11:46 PM

Kplayer and Kaffeine are absolutely different from each other!! Also that voting option has no KPlayer in it.. So perfectly I am not blind...I hope..
