Open Source Game of the Year
What's your favorite Open Source game?
--jeremy |
The dear and old Gnu Chess
|
Supertux, but just because of the name :)
I don't play games |
That's a lot of games, maybe I should start playing some
|
0 A.D.. Actually it's the only one I've played on this list, but it's come far and worth playing.
|
I would vote for FreeOrion, bu it is not on the list. So freeciv got the vote.
|
FreeOrion has been added.

Why are we having this poll? ;) SuperTuxKart of course! :)

Xmoto, new levels developed all the time.
|
The only game I play is version of Dual N Back Lite, that I have extended myself. I use it to keep my brain in shape. I think there should be a category for 'Open source training games'.
|
Xonotic - saving nexuiz by being free and better.
|
Freeciv

warzone 2100
I am addicted to this game! I highly recommend it. A huge plus is that I can span it across 4 monitors. Nothing sneaks up on me! :) Ric

a) the fourth remix pack has finally been released after what, a decade? b) a new game in the series is in development (http://arstechnica.com/gaming/2014/0...n-development/) |
I would have loved to play the HD version of UQM , but the license is not GPL, no slackware packages.
"Creative commons license is void , it is not part of juffo-wup. Slackware is Juffo-Wup" |
Xonotic
Xonotic sure has come a long way. I love practically everything about it! The weapons are great, the trick jumping is awesome, and it's just an all around great shooter that everyone should check out. By the way, anyone know what became of Nexuiz? Did it finally make it to a console, or is it still rotting on a server somewhere?
|
I haven't play game for ages.
|
SuperTux from my side but I have not played any games for years and years.
|
gnu chess,, a classic... I hope to win some day....
|
I like "AssaultCube"
|
Oolite wasn't on the list, so I went with my #2: SuperTuxKart.
|
game
freedroidrpg is pretty good. there is even a spin-off called dreprogriferd.
|
No time for games here so hesitant to vote but with that caveat in mind, I know my kids would shout in unison their love of "Battle for Wesnoth". I'm going to have to point them to this poll though to take a gander at what else they might be missing :)
|
If like my nephew it's Minetest. :)

Thanks for that. Just took a quick look. Cool that it runs on older hardware, of wh/I have stacks!! But from screenshots mayhaps just a bit too old school on the graphics for them compared to Battle for Wesnoth, of which they've come to be spoiled. |

I haven't tried any games on Linux this year but I think I will give some a go I Game on my Windows PC which is the only reason why I use windows at all, but around 3years ago I went as opensource as I could think of so I played allot of Enemy Territory and to be honest that game ran allot better in Linux than in Windows.
So I am going to play around with some of those games and hopfully this list will still be up so I can vote. |
My nephews and I have had a lot of fun playing Boswars over the home LAN.
I've tried many of the games from this list and many are quite good. |
