I have a remaster that boots not one but THREE versions of "Core"-- x86_32, x86_64, and a 32 bit RT (Real time) kernel on one ISO!... 23mb for all three. Add on the ARM port too for about 7mb more.
Five commands later I am in a full X11 environment from either of these kernels.
I had with Ubuntu when they moderated the entire email support list. I tried Mint, but as an old time user, I just didn't "like" it. So, I fled to Debian and haven't looked back. Back in the RPM days, I though Debian was full of scary Stallmanestas, but nothing is further from the truth. Their user list is absolutely top notch and they don't suffer from the over-zealous list-Nazis that I associate with Ubuntu and I refuse to sell my soul there any longer. That's just my two cents and I'm sticking to it! Ric
My first few years distro hoping, plus learning, I read somewhere that more developers use Debian than any other Linuces (can't recall a source SORRY ) but at the time you picked available package lists on if you were a normal user or a developer (something like that think there was 3 choices it was almost 20 years ago) developers got way more packages offered and as a hobbies with aspirations I still want it all. Thanks to Debian + + hope you win like we all do with Linux!
