Mobile Distribution of the Year

A new category this year. Which distribution do you think is best for your mobile device?

Ubuntu Mobile.
Can be very promising if Canonical learns how to make stable releases.

Can we get Maemo on the list? Or are you counting that under MeeGo?

jeremy 01-16-2011 09:52 AM

Maemo and Moblin are being transitioned to MeeGo to my understanding, so were not included in the list.

Came here trying to vote for Jolicloud, and realized the category did not fit. How about adding a cloud-based distro category and a netbook category to the list?

jeremy 01-17-2011 03:09 PM

We'll consider it, but as we're up to 4 distribution categories already we may not be adding more in the near future.

I use Android and Love it for how many people are developing for it. But Google's actions with dropping h.264 support from Chrome and trying to force in WebM and not having their online services (Google Docs, Buzz, ect) be opensource make have a bad feeling about them now :( but I am trying to keep an open mind and see where they're going. I had never heard of Ubuntu Mobile til I seen it as an option to vote for!! I want to vote for it so badly but I have not has one second of experience with it or anything else but Android so that is what I have to go with :-( please anyone who has tried anything but android give the others serious consideration.

android is the best mobile operating system in my opinion not only the best mobile distribution.

tiredofbilkyyaforallican 01-17-2011 07:56 PM

Android has certainly been the benchmark to compare with so this would have to be it;P
