I wanted to pick NetBeans. But chose Bluefish. I really like it and use it for a lot of things - even text editing.

Also, honorable mentions to RadRails and Aptana Studio.

Yeah, where exactly should Kate be placed? LOL.

KDevelop is my vote. Mainly since I use it for everything larger than single file. I know it has some growing up todo in 4 to match 3.5 but I like the new KDE. I use eclipse at work so if I could have two votes it'd be for that.
And Kate almost fits here, almost. It's KDevs kid sister if you like ;)

Notepad++ is missing. I vote Aptana but I use both. And then vim.

gvim is my vote.

Here I would say "gvim".

Geany! I don't like it when my IDE codes for me. ;P

SkyEye 02-07-2011 11:58 AM

I know it's too late, but what about people who use Vim plugins, and use vim/gvim as an IDE?

Wow! Netbeans really seems to be loosing traction under the auspices of Snoracle.

Meanwhile, Geany nearl doubled from last year.
