Nero Linux 3 is my choice. I better pay 20$ then face multiple k3b bugs.

Again it's a true cross-platform success like VLC; ffmpeg simply the best. Many tools add their wrappers on the ffmpeg.

FFMPEG obviously. It can act as backend to most other multimedia utilities.

I vote digiKam. Plug a digital camera in and it just works.

I also like K3b.

hard to choose between GStreamer and FFmpeg. voted FFmpeg.
edit: yeah, i agree with some of you guys, FFmpeg is kinda overlooked but used by many other MM components. + stable and functional.
