Pidgin, and only Pidgin.

N3rding 01-15-2009 03:47 PM

gsan 01-15-2009 03:53 PM

mihaibu 01-15-2009 11:40 PM

How about gyachi?

linuxlover.chaitanya 01-16-2009 12:21 AM

I know there are hundreds of these things but I find Ayttm works very well with googletalk and it is small. I always have trouble with Pidgin and googletalk.

I did vote Skype given the choices. Voice and video in linux is pretty darned nice.

MetalheadGautham 01-16-2009 01:16 PM

Chatzilla should have been an option. Its used by several people and is quite popular and efficient.

es0teric 01-17-2009 07:48 PM

Pidgin all the way.

Now if only Skype played nicely with it...

GuySkarpz 01-18-2009 08:11 PM

Kopete because pidgin stopped working for my msn side of things but pidgin still worked for aim and yahoo. So saying thanks to Kopete for saving my msn side and letting me still talk on MSN and even though aMSN didn't work either. Looks a lot like MSN and customizable too.

An honorable mention would be the Spark Client from the folks at Jive Software. They even offer an open source RTC server.

Voted for irssi, but centerim is unjustly placed between irc clients.

+1 for Irssi

The client of your future... ...as soon as you get smart enough to use it...;-P
