Pidgin & Xchat
Pidgin, and only Pidgin.

My vote would be for Mercury were it in the list second choice would have to be amsn
Why not ERC?
How about gyachi?
Pidgin. Looks nice and works too....
My vote goes for Pidgin..
I know there are hundreds of these things but I find Ayttm works very well with googletalk and it is small. I always have trouble with Pidgin and googletalk.
I did vote Skype given the choices. Voice and video in linux is pretty darned nice. |
Chatzilla should have been an option. Its used by several people and is quite popular and efficient.
Pidgin all the way.
Now if only Skype played nicely with it... |
Kopete because pidgin stopped working for my msn side of things but pidgin still worked for aim and yahoo. So saying thanks to Kopete for saving my msn side and letting me still talk on MSN and even though aMSN didn't work either. Looks a lot like MSN and customizable too.

An honorable mention would be the Spark Client from the folks at Jive Software. They even offer an open source RTC server.

Voted for irssi, but centerim is unjustly placed between irc clients.
+1 for Irssi
The client of your future... ...as soon as you get smart enough to use it...;-P |
