Kanotix LiveCD (with a persistand home directory) is my everyday distro.

My vote would go to Freesbie but it isn't in the list =(

Knoppix was my favorite on the list, although I recently tried elive (showcasing enlightenment) and I was quite impressed. A few things were still broken with e17, which is still under development, but it worked quite well. e16 was pretty much perfect. My only gripe with it was dealing with some of my monitors. A few of them wouldn't display it properly, even after trying a few different boot options. Knoppix does not have this trouble.

Ubuntu is the best. Period..:D

Knoppix is the only one I keep around and it has helped me out of many sticky situations.

Knoppix kinda saved me when I managed to boot my KDE into Gnome... Still not sure how I did it, though =P

I must say I have tried the last ubuntu live edition and it worked slowly and hung when going into X...
It went all too windowslike:) doing everything itself.

Both knoppix and Slax did the job for me, knoppix having better hardware detection and switching from X-version to the working one. Eventually I chose slax because its fast, it works perfectly, and has a server-sync system that allows you to freely store your configuration on a server.

Agreed - I like Gentoo - but Kanotix is on my system as well for rescues! Its quick, and its very easy to use!

I think Slax has had a very big impact and so configurable it is arguably the best, I couldn't vote Morphix cause they haven't really released in 2005.

HOwever was surprised not too see puppy which is a relatively new live CD but is awesome and already has a derivative (grafpup) based on it and has only been around the last 18 months or so.

I voted Slax so as not too be difficult but post if you like puppy...

Live CD Made my life simple. I am able to rectify the problem in my system by using Live CD.

I can boot into linux and be on the internet and listening to i-radio in 5 minutes! All on a mini-CD, 210MB of FUN!

Wolvix impressed me as a great collection of tools and easy to use. That would have been my choice

Elive in the eye-candy category (surely you know a couple of people who would be impressed if you showed them *that*)

Gnoppix failed to impress me (and I'm a GNOME user!)

Where did you find Gnoppix? As even searching for it in Google, will take me to the Knoppix site...

I've been wanting to check it out.
