Nautilus

i use konqueror mainly because that is what comes with kde... but i do a lot of stuff from the command line too... ideally i'd ike something like Total Commander from Windows, it's still the quickest and easiest file manager to use (IMHO). mc and gnome commander just don't quite live up to total commander.

Closest thing to Total Commander in Linux is Krusader (though still has a way to go before actually getting there...)
|
worker ...is the best for me ...light ...fast..fully configurable..i can configure everythng in it.
The only disadv. is that its gui may looks old fashion. |
What about emelfm, emelfm2 and xffm? They could be all included in the poll.

I voted for Konqueror and I do use the FISH feature sometime. 99% of my work is via the terminal and cd, ls, grep, find are my mainstay. For me point and click is a pain in the tail, and slow. I can do so much more with mv, cp, ls and I now how to use them so why would I want to use a GUI file manager.
I do you Konqueror sometime but it is primarily when I am showing someone new how to do something. Some people just don't want to learn about computers, they just want to point and click and hope. I always thought people should have to get a drivers license before they start to drive -- same goes for computers. One of the main reasons there are fewer exploits against Linux is most of the users are at least somewhat knowledgeable and don't do stupid things like log on as root all the time. |
i use konqueror as a file manager in kde, mainly because of the graphical fish interface for ssh, but usually use nautilus if i ever use gnome
|
Nautilus -- though its spatial mode may be unpopular, including with me at first, I find myself actually *using* a graphical file manager for the first time in years.

I use Konq. It's there, it works, never had a reason to try something else.

Gentoo?
|
Konqueror and gentoo have been added.

Worker has been added.
--jeremy |
Konquerer for me! :)
|
I have noticed that several times "jeremy" has noted that one or the other tool has "been added". Does that mean that it has been added to the poll, and if so what about those of us who have already voted (maybe not for our real favorite)?
