Yes, I did. Didn't like having to install Mozilla just to get the galeon front-end (two browsers for the cost of one?). Didn't like the default toolbar layout either. Didn't like the way it hesitated before fetching a web page. What I did like was how the search engines were bookmarked. That was cool.

Don't get me wrong. Firefox is far from perfect, but its getting there fast.

It's still under development, but in my opinion it's more complete than Firefox. The KHTML/Konqueror developers also react to bugs much friendlier. Example for Firefox: with loads of wishes on bugzilla they still don't want to add a 'new tab' button on the tab bar, and they also don't fix the "http:// without semicolon goes to microsoft.com" bug.

I've got a NEW_TAB button. You need to install the Tabbrowser Preferences extension

Well, I use and I voted for Phoenix, erm Firebird, erm Firefox. ;)

Zakirium 01-09-2005 09:03 AM

Firefox

I must say Firefox takes my vote again! Much easier, faster, and more secure than any other browser!

Pazabo 01-09-2005 10:13 AM

How are we ever going to get a flame war over this? This one's going to be a pre-1990 Albanian election result...

Pity there's no IE for Linux. That might just get things going ;-)

PSHLOS_007 01-09-2005 02:53 PM

Definetely Opera.ESpecially when u got a 400mhz celeron. The rest X browsers need a lot of CPU!

Firefox is the best browser out there...imo, If I have to use a windows machine :( it is the only way I would even think of getting on the net!!!

dylansmrjones 01-10-2005 11:59 PM

Firefox... it's gggrrrrrrrrrrreeeeeeeaaatt !! I use it on M$ winblows as well... Right now I'm actually writing this with firefox 1.0 (danish version) on win2k ...

But usually I'm running Fedora though... a long time ago since I've used windows for more than 30 minutes in a row :p

jollyjoice 01-11-2005 01:47 PM

firefox - installed it on my "U" drive @ school so I can use it on ANY comp on site! I'm thinkin!

insyte 01-13-2005 10:20 AM

Internet Explorer on WINE

Just kidding, firefox of course.

dclayton 01-13-2005 12:07 PM

go firefox

I love the latest firefox. This is already fantastic but a little more polish and it will be nearly perfect. Extensions are very good, it seems I can't live without adblock and image zoom. Uninstall of extensions needs work. I use KDE and konqueror is a good browser for some file management and such. Even latest mozilla doesn't nearly match firefox.
