Sylpheed is good, I use it on my sister's PC.
I will keep using mozilla or thunderbird in this PC because it use the Netscape 4.X format which would keep compatibility. |
I tried Kmail, Mozilla mail, Opera's mail/news built into their browser, and Sylpheed. Evolution outperforms all of them in terms of features and ease of use. I also enjoy seeing my weather on the log in screen. :)
I remember PINE from around the time the internet opened to the public, and it was my very favorite news/mail reader back then, and even text editor! :) I also used Lynx back then as well. My how times have changed! PINE is still great too. But I use KDE and enjoy the GUI stuff these days. |

For me, evolution would be the best ...
if I could spare 300++ MB harddisk space just to install GNOME LIBS !! So yeah ... I better stick with pine on the server, remotelly accessed from anywhere using ssh (Linux) or PuTTY (Windows). The only "VIRUS proof" method to read e-mail from Windows :) |
Dude, evo rocks -- J.W.

there's nothin better than mutt (gpg/pgp support is just awesome)
|
Emacs / Gnus is still missing on the list. Certainly the most powerful news / mail client around...
|
My vote to Evolution... which seems to be winning as it is..
|
Evolution is ok but i think thunderbird is awesome and has a lot of potential.
|
If thunderbird the mail client is anything like the ford thunderbird.. yukk
|
Pine, all the way!
To heck with all these GUI'ed mail clients. :-) |
I can't stand Text based email clients...
|
opera, but still needs some refinements
|
If you are paying for it.. you should not be paying for something that nees fefinements..
