I think you will find that has always been the case.

However, even the stable system is updated every 6 months, so you won't get any troubles if you keep up with things.

You upgrade the base system - & then update all installed software, (by running a single command).

Not so. CVEs and other serious issues have been addressed with -stable ports, but the project has never built -stable packages. Until now. These have always been left to users to package for themselves. For some years, the company M:Tier has produced -stable packages as a service to the OpenBSD community, but have now ceased doing so with this announcement.

This has permitted me to eliminate my i386 and amd64 package build VMs for the servers I admin.
