mouse input

how does the mouse get activated for xorg? the config and packages were installed from the bsd handbook, but none of the steps allowed mouse input. the keyboard works however.

I think
Xorg usually started using a tty and the keyboard events of that terminal will be "redirected"/handled by X.
Xorg will read /dev/input/something to handle mouse events, but it also may depend on the mentioned terminal somehow.

Good morning!

You don't specify which version of BSD you're using. That will enable a member to help you trouble shoot.

Using the latest 12.1 FreeBSD. BTW I've came across similar issue with linux and it ended up being a driver module not loaded into the kernel. But I haven't much experience with the FreeBSD kernel and don't know if this could be the issue with the mouse driver.

Thanks for the reply. FreeBSD is a robust OS. I suggest that you check out the FreeBSD handbook.

Another good resource is the official FreeBSD forum.
