FTP Master Site and "fan out" options

Hello again.

Question for the group. If this is in another forum please let me know.

Where would I look to learn about setting up a Master FTP site with "Fan Out" options. I'm thinking this would be a great *BSD app for an internal project within our company's network of VPN or outside of the VPN depending on the office and country. But i have no clue as to where to start the research phase.

If it is a BSD option then what software would I use.

If anyone has experiences pros/cons it would be appreciated.

What do you mean by "fan out"?

If you want ftp archive mirroring, try rsync.
