None of the docs I have read so far can yet answer this: can I FTP a FreeBSD to my Mac and cut it to CD and then boot my x86 (now running RH 7.2) and install it?
Yes, you can. I've done so with many many Linux and *BSD distro's already. No problems encountered so far. Well, except for the refusal of my laptop to boot from CDs, but whatever. Unrelated.
thanks -- I am going into this slowly cause my i86 box is far from speedy, (66 side bus what a putz but it has HD > 30Gig (yeah right that always means XXgig-2 at least, why is that?)
