WTF, Kernel Compiled but wont install!!

I ahve recompiled my kernel with the specs i need and now when i goto install it bottles out and shouts out:

Make: don't know how to make bsd.README. Stop
***Error code 2

DOH! suggestions? im on google now but still no luck.

What steps did you follow to compile the kernel? It's pretty much impossible to guess what might have gone wrong if you don't list all the steps you took exactly.

Something is wrong here: /usr/src/share/mk
Have you cvsup'ed of late? Check the make file at that location if you know how to read make files and check was is inside bsd.README.

ps: Are you sure this is not happening when you make buildworld? Since as far as i know make isnt called to use the makefile when installing world.

Devboy 08-09-2004 12:08 PM

Which FreeBSD are you running? 4.10? or 5.2.1?
