Trouble with make install

i ran cvsup with the stable supfile, that worked
from /usr/src i ran make world
that didn't seem to give me any issues.

Mysql323-server- i ran make install

at first it looks fine, then i get -
===> Returning to build of p5-Mysql-modules-1.2216
Error: shared library "mysqlclient.10" does not exist
*** Error code 1

stop in /usr/ports/databases/p5-Mysql.

------
i did the make install in mysql323-client and that went ok, but i still get the same error message when i try to install the server.

locate mysqlclient.10
/usr/local/lib/mysqlclient.10

I am also getting this error code 1 when trying to install some other programs such as mozilla, but i don't really care about that, just sql.

That's odd.

There is no mysqlclient.10, at least there shouldn't be. What there should be is a /usr/local/lib/mysql/libmysqlclient.so.10

I do see that databases/p5-Mysql has a LIB_DEPENDS= mysqlclient.10, and yet when I build it myself it doesn't complain. I even have the line:

p5-Mysql-modules-1.2216 depends on shared library: mysqlclient.10 - found

in the output of the build.

Try this:

# ldconfig -r

and see if you have a line that says

-lmysqlclient.10 => /usr/local/lib/mysql/libmysqlclient.so.10

If not, then run this (as root of course):

# ldconfig -vm /usr/local/lib/mysql/

and then try the ldconfig -r again and see if libmysqlclient.so.10 is there now. If so, then you should be good to go.
