Trouble Connecting to Wireless Network

I'm running OpenBSD 3.7. I'm trying to connect to a network with a RaLink rt2500 chipset based PCI card. I tried typing
Code:
ifconfig bssid my_network_name chan 11
at the command prompt, but as far as I know that did not configure anything. Does anyone happen to know what the proper procedure and syntax is?

EDIT:

Sorry, I forgot I had asked, more or less, the same question in another thread. I am still having trouble with the configuration though.
