State of bhyve for gaming

Hi all,

In my travels I came across an article boasting about near-native performance for guests running under KVM/qemu, this combined with ovmf, vfio & pci-passthrough made for a guest that was well capable for modern gaming and excellent performance (near-native) -- source

I was wondering if anything like this is possible under freebsd & bhyve, from what I understand bhyve is capable of pci passthrough even if only on intel processors with VT-d/x. libvirt also works with bhyve.

I am curious if anyone has tried a similar set up like in the video with bhyve and if performance was at all comparable? Is it even possible?

According to the wiki, VGA passthrough isn't possible yet: https://wiki.freebsd.org/bhyve

If you have a licenced windows, why not just install that on bare metal?

Ah I missed that,

also I just find it to be a neat project and possibly a preferable solution to dual booting, at least in my opinion.
