Startx doesn't work
The startx command only works as root. When i type it as any other user it doesn't work. If type the path to startx i get the following:
$ /usr/X11R6/bin/startx
/usr/X11R6/bin/startx[139]: xauth: not found
/usr/X11R6/bin/startx[139]: xauth: not found
/usr/X11R6/bin/startx[139]: xauth: not found
/usr/X11R6/bin/startx[139]: xauth: not found
/usr/X11R6/bin/startx[142]: xinit: not found
/usr/X11R6/bin/startx[146]: xauth: not found
uhmmm..guys i do have almost the same problem...the thing is i installed freebsd 5.2 then during install there was a problem with qt-something...i believe it didn't install properly but since i've chosen multiple desktops(i believe) i can't seem to enter my GUI instead i end up in a console-like interface then i log-in as root then type startx...lots of lines appears but the most noticeable is the error that says- "No screens found"....uhmmm, help guys, please...

No screens found is probably caused by a bad monitor or screen setting. It could be that you missed a apostrophe or using a wrong depth, or forgot to set a default depth, maybe your Hsync and Vsync are out of wack. Look into those, I had this problem before. Follow exactly how the book has it.
thanx for the help...guys...i actually toyed with my monitor settings and my card setting and it worked(but it's in 800X600 res, i kinda' chose the monitor with NILR 1024X768 and 800X600 res...i kinda' don't know how 2 make my res 1024X768? any help, please?)
