starting apache automatically upon booting

hi,

i've tried for an hour (or four) to get apache to automatically start when i boot (using FreeBSD 4.11).. i've made sure the /usr/local/etc/rc.d/apache.sh script is executable, and apache_enable="YES" is set.. what am i doing wrong?

The startup script only actually fires if it sees a config file in a specific place. You may need to tweak that part of the script to point to where your config actually is. Sorry I can't be more specific, but I don't have any BSD boxen left to look at now (we went completely to Linux) :-)

Check that the configuration file, httpd.conf, is in /usr/local/etc/apache.
