Sending Wake-on-LAN packets at kernel level

Good day,

Does anyone know how to send WoL packets from kernel level in FreeBSD (rather than at user space level)?
Is it possible to use a customized kernel for this purpose? What kernel functions should I look into?

Thanks

I am trying to determine how it could matter whether the packets are constructed and put on the wire by a userland process or by the kernel. Because once they're on the wire to the other host, they look exactly the same. They don't have different privileges or anything at all like that.

If you want them to be sent from host 'A' whenever it starts, that's just something for rc.local.

The aim is to send the packets from the kernel level. I think the more appropriate question would be, how to send raw Ethernet packets from kernel?
