Hi all,
I've managed to install the flash plugin to Firefox using the instructions found in the handbook. However, just as the handbook indicated, Firefox would crash while viewing some Web sites with Flash animations (I tested by browsing sites with Flash 7 animations).
I then tried the recommendation in the handbook by fetching rtld_dlsym_hack.diff and proceeded to run "patch < rtld_dlsym_hack.diff" in /usr/src.
It was then that I came to my dilemma. The output of the command was this:
Code:
# patch < rtld_dlsym_hack.diff
Hmmm... Looks like a unified diff to me...
The text leading up to this was:
--------------------------
|---libexec/rtld-elf/rtld.c.orig Fri Sep 24 08:05:52 2004
|+++libexec/rtld-elf/rtld.c Sun Oct 17 03:37:44 2004
--------------------------
File to patch:
Seems like it's waiting for me to choose which file to patch. My inclination is to go with rtld.c since rtld.c.orig seems to be a backup. However, I don't even have an rtld-elf directory in libexec!
Anyone know what I have to do next? Do I just type "libexec/rtld-elf/rtld.c" or do I have to hit ctrl-c and install something else first?
