Hi, I use OpenBSD 3.5, and I've installed XChat2, but it looks terrible because no Anti-Aliasing is enabled. so, I downloaded all of Gnome's packages from the official OpenBSD ftp, then loaded it and entered the "Fonts" section on Gnome's Control Center. I chose Best Contrast font rendering, but no luck. I tried Best Shapes and Subpixel Smoothing too, but no luck. so now all the apps that work on Gnome/GTK (XChat, Gaim, ...) display ugly and aliased fonts. maybe I need another gnome package? this is the output of the command `pkg_info | grep gnome`:
Code:
gdk-pixbuf-gnome-0.22.0 GdkPixbuf graphics library (GNOME Canvas)
gnome-applets2-2.4.2 applets for use with the GNOME panel
gnome-desktop-2.4.1.1 components for the GNOME desktop
gnome-icon-theme-1.0.9 the base GNOME icon theme
gnome-libs-1.4.2 libraries for the GNOME project
gnome-mime-data-2.4.1 MIME and Application database for GNOME
gnome-panel-2.4.2 GNOME panel
gnome-print-0.36 printing framework for GNOME
gnome-session-2.4.2 GNOME session
gnome-terminal-2.4.2 GNOME terminal
gnome-themes-2.4.1 themes collection for GNOME
gnome-utils-2.4.1 GNOME utility programs
gnome-vfs2-2.4.2 GNOME Virtual File System
gnome2-user-docs-2.4.1 General GNOME User Documentation
libgnome-2.4.0 libraries for the GNOME project
libgnomecanvas-2.4.0 graphics library for GNOME
libgnomeui-2.4.0.1 user interface components for GNOME
So what's wrong here? I even tried to manually do `gnome-font-properties` and choose all the 3 rendering options mentioned above but no luck. restarting didn't hlep too. What can I do?
Thanks (alot) in advance.
