I have just installed FreeBSD 4.8 upon my Dell Inspiron 3000 and can not figure out how to assign an IP adres, or for that matter have teh OS even see my 3com Megahertz 10/100 CardBUS (PCMCIA slot) card.
This is my first attempt at installing FreeBSD on a laptop and am throughly confused on how to get it to use PCMCIA cards.
I think I need to somehwo get rc.d or rc.conf to detect my PCMCIA cards before booting but.... I really dont have a clue.
What's the output from "dmesg", offhand I can't remember the name of the device that a 3com card will get assigned, an ne2000 clone is ne3, a wireless card is usually wi0, etc...
