That is a very old version of PC-BSD. They have changed the name and it is now called, TrueOS. You might want to install a more recent version, if not the latest version.
Further to cwizardone's excellent suggestion you may also consider trying the real deal, FreeBSD. PC-BSD and TrueOS are based on FreeBSD. PC-BSD is an excellent OS. The FreeBSD handbook is outstanding and will walk you through installation and set-up.
How do I install it(FreeBSD) and then have a desktop?
Thank you!
Further to cynwulf's helpful link you may wish to give FreeBSD a try in a virtual machine to try it out. As cynwulf mentioned there is a learning curve associated with installing FreeBSD and getting a desktop running. A thorough read through of the Handbook is needed.
