OpenBSD - putty session takes forever to start...

just set up openbsd38 the other day... used dhclient on the bsd box attached to a dlink router attached to my laptop...

in trying to log into the bsd box using putty on an xp pro sp2 machine, prompt for username and password comes up quickly, then on entering password there is what seems like a one minute timeout.. then terminal...

Any ideas?

Yes. The BSD machine can't resolve your IP address. Are it's nameservers set up correctly in /etc/resolv.conf? As you're using DHCP, they probably are, but one never knows.

The "cheap hack" solution is to put your laptop's IP in the BSD machine's host file. The real solution is to make DNS work. :)
