for Harpune ...
first - rename /.../hlds_l/valve/valvecomm.lst to valvecomm.lst.1111 (as an example) , and (or) woncomm.lst to ...
- this will disable Downloadig Security Module from Speakeasy.net
you'll see :
Error Downloading Security Module from Speakeasy.net
Server is not secure
Like that, we set the server up to pass key validation.
Secondary - you need to find "NOWon" patch for hlds for Linux.
this patch is very simple. it consists of three files :
engine_i686.so
engine_i486.so
engine_amd.so
Replace these files in your hlds_l location. These patched files will be fixed your Class B network problem. Instead of WON Auth Server , you will see only Auth Server
If you tell me what is a version of your hlds server , i'll find for you this patch.

OOoh, this was very informative. I was wondering whether HLDS would run under OpenBSD (currently I have it under FreeBSD). Now I can rest assured that if I wipe my FBSD install, I can still have the C-S server
Thanks for your offer for help, donpatrona. I am using hlds 3.1.1.0 (I can't seem to find 3.1.1.1 anymore). If you could point me to the patches for 3.1.1.0, or the upgrade to 3.1.1.1, I would be much appreciative,
there is a Big problem with HLDS 3.1.1.1 or 3.1.1.0 that players can download "server.cfg" or other important files by using the following command in console:
