You're welcome. Haha, good one! The OpenBSD team had 6.3 finished ahead of schedule so they released it well before the release date.
It's interesting to note that they have been releasing early for the last several releases.

I miss the time when there were fixed release dates. They made it so much more predictable.

Anyway, up and running reliably, as (almost) always.

I have the opposite reaction to the early releases. I really like getting to run the new release earlier than expected. Glad that you are up and running! BSD goodness!

But OpenBSD truly is indispensable for ancient novelty hardware.

HP-G62 15.6" laptop with 2GB ram running OBSD6.3/X/xenocara/fluxbox/firefox/mplayer/mc/mpg123/xpat2/xmahjongg installed size 1.5GB.

Acer AAO532 10.1" netbook with 2GB ram running OBSD6.3 mainly console/mc/mpg123 (using startx/X/twm/dillo for browsing the internet) approx 900MB installed.

Even my favourite lightweight Linux distro can't compete with so little space required.

There are no "unplanned upgrades". As the two most recent releases are supported, you can run 6.2-release and still get security updates until 6.4-release is released.

New to this forum. New to openbsd (but was a BSD 4.2 user from a looong time ago).
I have a dec alphaserver 4100. Trying to get openbsd 6.3 running on it.
I cant get the installer to see my disks.

I have a KZPSA controller card (intel 82375)
At boot I get ....epci1 dev 5 function 0 not configured.

So I think that means no driver for the device?
Yes sure I can go find a SCSI card that the system sees, but am I doing something
fundamentally wrong? Will a different boot image do the job?

Wires and cables everywhere just now. still waiting for the smoke to escape.

Yes, "not configured" is kernel-speak for "no driver for this device." The OpenBSD FAQ discusses the message here:
