Open BSD router

I need to set up a router on a 486. I'm going to have two ethernet cards. One connected to the cable modem and the other connected to the hub. If i just enable routed will this work?, or am i missing something. (i'd like to know what i'm doing before i buy all the hardware.)

ps I read the man pages for routed and i wasn't a hundred percent sure.

You don't really need to worry about routed (it will take care of itself).

Just make sure you turn ip forwarding on and your netmasks are right... if you are using NAT or pf... then there are some small things to take care of. But it is really easy to do. The FAQ walks you right through the basics.

thanks, i didn't think i was that simple

You should really read the PF User's Guide You certainly don't want to just enable IP forwarding without doing anything to block malicious traffic.
