one last stop -inkjet printer via KDE
Well,I figured out everything I need to have a viable freebsd desktop like cd burning, gaming etc.Now I am having a tough time printing.
I have gotten my printer set up via the apsfilter ./SETUP run-through and the test page came out sparkling.Unfortunately I can only seem to print that test page.I want to print a simple text document from the KDE desktop and the job gets queued and sits in the "print jobs" window but I am having a time getting the printer to actually print it. The "select printer" icon and "show only user jobs" icon are the only ones that are operable in the Kjobviewer. -What am I missing? Help please!! |
Well,I linked the lpd .bin from /usr/sbin to my desktop and now I just send a job to the printer, highlight it in kjobviewer , then click the lpd.bin and voila it works.I don't know if that's exactly kosher so I would still appreciate some further input.
THX I forgot that I issued some commands prior; chmod a+rw /var/spool/lpd ............................................/lpd/* ............................................/lpd/*/* Thats iz wut dun it But now I must learn how to print pretty web pages and not just text. |
