Try "xorgconfig" for xorg or "xfree86config" if you are using XFree86

X -configure
mv ~/XF86Config.new /etc/X11/XF86Config
startx

Or use sysinstall command and visit post install > configure server (X86) that will also do. If your card is not supported try to setup VESA

I have personally never had sysinstall's X config work, which is why I posted what I did.

Good pointer though, and I guess "great!" if it works.

Yah some time VESA do a trick

sigsegv 02-14-2005 07:10 AM

I've never used VESA either, I just don't bother to run sysinstall through the X setup section and once it's installed I do the X -configure thing.

Sysinstall's pretty fault tolerant, but it's X setup section just bites. I know X -configure works. :p
