mysql-server4.1 and mod php-mysql conflig

I head alot of information about the good of freeBSD ports or parket , ofcause I think that work fine with it funtion , but I do not think the people mantain it did not so well .

The problem was , when I finish installing the 5.4 system , I use the sysinstall connect to freebd server to install the mysql 4.10a and php4 . Unfortunatly , the mysql-server 4.10a will install the mysql-client 4.10a as dependency , but the php4 install the mysql-client install the mysql-client 4.0 and those mysql client-4.1 and mysql-client-4.0 going to be conflig . I could not use php with mysql, so I have to compile by hand ( download the tar file , config , make and make install ... )

Have you ever get a problem like that ? So many problem with the ports and the binary backage
