Issues while mounting a FreeBSD vmdk file using "vmware-mount"

Hello all,

I am trying to mount a FreeBSD vmdk disk file using following command:

Quote:

"C:\Program Files\VMware\VMware Server>vmware-mount z: "E:\Virtual-Machines\test\FreeBSD 64-bit.vmdk" /v:1

The error which I am getting is:

An unexpected error has occurred. Details have been saved in the Application event log.

Also following is the additional info:

C:\Program Files\VMware\VMware Server>vmware-mount "E:\Virtual-Machines\test\FreeBSD 64-bit.vmdk" /p

The filesystem with which I formated it is UFS2 which I guess is FreeBSD default filesystem.

Has anybody before mounted a FreeBSD disk file ?

Any pointers on how can I mount a FreeBSD vmdk file?

Just to add more info...I have been able to mount it using "vmware-mount.pl" utility on a Fedora BOX but in readonly mode.

I think the reason for it is that my Kernel support mounting UFS2 filesystem in readonly mode.

How can I make my Kernel mount UFS2 filesystem in Read/Write mode on a Linux BOX?

Has anyone before used "vmware-mount.pl" utility to mount UFS2 filesystem in Read/Write mode?

There is an app out there for mounting UFS/UFS2 fs in windows, but it's read only. UFS Explorer.

As far as I know, write support is not available in Linux (yet).

May you write the command you used for mount the ufs partition?
