ICP Vortex SATA RAID on OpenBSD 3.4
 

Hi all.

After a recent major disk failure on my desktop system, I am considering changing out to SATA disks on a hardware raid card. I've been looking at the ICP Vortex 8546RZ SATA RAID Card, and was wondering if any of you had experience of this card under OpenBSD 3.4

I have already noted the firmware issue (www . vortex . de/english/support/faq/linux_e.htm#bsd1) but would appreciate any other information that will help me in my purchasing decision.

All I know is that Vortex cards are highly recommended by Theo (the creator of OpenBSD) so I would assume they have fairly good support, although INSTALL.i386 only mentions this as being supported There's no other reference to either "ICP" or "Vortex".
