How to boot OpenBSD 5.1 to KDE desktop bypassing the login and typing KDEDIR=/user/l
Hello, does anyone know how to config 5.1 to bypass the login and $ KDEDIR=/user/local exec ssh -agent /usr/local/bin/startkde ....so that it goes from powering on the computer straight to the KDE desktop screen which I have installed? Instead of having to login and then type this text above to get the kde desktop. Thanks Tony

bsd, kde boot config issue
Hey, thanks for the Kdm info. I do not have that installed. If I type man kdm I get that it is not found. Is there a way to do this with out that installed?

I was going to suggest looking it up here, but it doesn't appear to have non-base man pages...so I started digging around on one of my systems looking for the info, but "kdm" doesn't appear to be a separate package...so it may or may not have a man page anyways.
I haven't used kde since ~2005...so I'll have to defer to other forum members on this =) but the answer is most likely going to be "install and configure a graphical login manager". |
