If you peruse http://freebsd.kde.org/howtos/konqueror-flash.php you will find instructions on making Flash work in Konqueror. It's the same Flash plugin as used by Firefox... it just takes a small amount of tinkering to make it work in Konq.
Konqueror works fine as a web browser. It is a little slower loading pages than Firefox I think but a bit more stable in my experience.
Flash and Java work in Konqueror just fine. Install java and point the browser to the java executable file. Put the flah player plugin in mozilla's or firefox's plugin folder and then point konquerors config to it.

There is more to it than that. One must install /ports/www/konqueror-nsplugins as well.
