fxp + smp

I've got a box running FreeBSD 4.5-RELEASE kernel smp + 2 eepro100 (fxp)

The box frequently gives kernel warnings like:
fxp0: device timeout

corresponding to the box dropping off of the network. Sometimes permanently, sometimes temporarily.

And if i use a kernel no smp, i have no problem

any idea ?

Usually, a time out error message on a network device is a problem of IRQ but what I don't understand is why it doesn't appear on a non-smp kernel.
