Are there any FF plugins for Free/DesktopBSD? There are many sites which have flash on them which I visit. Clicking on the "Install missing plugin" doesn't quite find any suitable plugins for installation.
You need to install linuxpluginwrapper and the plugins you want from ports or as a binary. I have had no problems with RealPlayer, Java and Acrobat Reader. Flash Player (the package is called linux-flashplugin) crashes at times so I hardly use it. FreeBSD has a port of the linux version of Firefox so if you keep experiencing problems, install that as a backup.
So there's no native plugin interface yet for the *BSD Firefox? Ok, I'll try the linux plugin interface and see. Other plugins aren't really needed, but Flash is used by so many sites that I can't seem to avoid it wherever I go.

The reason why there is Linux emulation for plugins is because there are no native flash, realplayer or acrobat reader for FreeBSD. The same applied to java but Sun has recently allowed distribution of FreeBSD java binaries. Its just the developers not wishing to port to another platform or putting restrictions on development of FreeBSD native ports.
I already have the Linux binary compatibility installed. Does that mean I need to install the linux plugin interface? Or does this work because of this? (BTW, I'm using DesktopBSD).
Will this be found in the DesktopBSD package manager? I'm currently upgrading the system using the DesktopBSD package manager so I'll try your suggestion after it finishes.
There is a short article here about browser plugins. It seems like there is a problem with Flash on FreeBSD (the EULA seems to prevent its use on FreeBSD). I didn't know about this till now, but it makes sense because linux-flash was deleted from my ports recently.
i installed linuxpluginwrapper and the mozilla-plugin, it seems to load, but its blank , ia m using the freebsd version of firefox, perhaps the plugin only work with the linux-firefox
